The Local Stranger counts as Calemine’s third book on Snake Nation Press.
The Local Stranger counts as Calemine’s third book on Snake Nation Press. It stands as a collection of seven fiction stories originally published in 2014. This version contains 20 recent photographs taken by Calemine. Throughout this collection Calemine writes stories about lives of unforgettable men and women: drifters, bartenders, addicts, lovers, musicians, hustlers and criminals. The stories transpire in southern towns as the characters struggle with their pasts and future, their faith and their failures. These stories may only be loosely intertwined, but they are thematically connected where matters of the soul are at stake.
